CLAIRE MAUNSELL
GATINEAU, QUEBEC  CANADA

About Claire

Claire Maunsell has been working with polymer for over 10 years. During that time she has been exploring how to create mysterious and complex surfaces for her beads, vessels and jewelry.

Claire studied at the Sheridan college of crafts and design in Canada and received a diploma in glassblowing. She had a 20 year award winning career in this field and developed a number of ideas which have carried over into her polymer work. Awards included a Niche award, Emerging Artist award at BMAC and grants from the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council.

She specializes in developing surface veneers using other media like paint, pastes and pastels to bond with the polymer surface that is so ready to receive it!

Claire lives in Gatineau Quebec with her family, right across the river from the Canadian capital of Ottawa.
