The POLYMER ART SUMMIT is a unique learning program focused on a specific polymer clay topic, taught by artists known for their mastery of that subject. The 2023 Summit will focus on POLYMER PLUS, an exploration of the marriage of polymer clay and additional materials as taught by international artists known for their innovative and unique ways with mixed media. POLYMER PLUS will consist of two formats: live sessions during the event, and pre-recorded sessions post-event.
August 5-6 Live Sessions: The Summit will span two days and will feature 4 artists, each offering a 2-hour process-driven session followed by a 30-minute Q&A period. The session may be a combination of pre-recorded video, narrated slide show and live presentation and must include a written handout in PDF format. In addition to the 2.5-hour session, presenters will also participate in a 1-hour one breakout-room, which enables artists and attendees to interact in a more direct, informal environment. To accommodate attendees across various time zones, the main 2.5-hour session will be recorded and will be available to attendees for 90 days following the completion of the Summit.
August 8 Pre-Recorded Sessions: This alternative is designed as a convenience for artists whose time zone, logistical restraints, or preference for pre-recorded teaching would make participation in the live sessions impractical. Artists may choose to offer a 90-minute pre-recorded video presentation that will be available to all participants at the close of the live event, beginning August 8, 2023. These sessions must also be accompanied by PDF handouts and will be available to attendees for 90 days following the completion of the Summit.
If you are interested in participating, you are invited to submit up to three (3) session proposals. The key dates are:
- March 27, 2023 – Submission Deadline
- April 8, 2023 – Submission Notification Status
- April 18, 2023 – Contracts Signed and Delivered
