Registration for the Second Annual Polymer Art Summit opened on May 1 with a bit of a bang-fizzle-flop. Paypal decided that it wasn’t going to play nice with others and several people had issues with the registration form itself. One consistent issue we heard was “We filled out the form but when we clicked Review, nothing happened.” What we found is that when the address auto-fill browser feature was used, some of the required address fields were skipped (usually the State/Province field). Until we added a note about this, people didn’t go back and check the form for errors. Any label with an asterisk (*) is a required field; you won’t be able to proceed to payment until all those fields have been filled.
We (mostly) resolved the PayPal issue, utilizing the ‘pay later’ feature of the registration app and sent invoices to everyone that hadn’t been able to use PayPal directly. Despite our efforts several potential attendees were left wondering “Did I really register?”
