All PAS attendees may attend this event, and it will be recorded for those attendees for whom the time zone difference makes it difficult to attend live.

About Donna – in Her Own Words

As a lifelong professional artist of 50 years, I have in turn worked in ceramic sculpture and pottery, textile design, graphic design and mural and faux finish painter. Yet it wasn’t until 15 years ago that I discovered polymer clay. What drew me to this medium was the surprise that I could employ all my past artistic experiences into my work. At first, I was drawn to making jewelry and then later branched out to more sculptural wall and standing pieces.
My attraction and reverence for the creations Mother Nature invents has always been a guide when making my own organic creations. I’ve always been attracted to the way things grow, transform and even die through their life cycles and have tried to capture some of that energy in my process. I also enjoy mixing other mediums with polymer such as metal, paper and paint. Having almost unlimited ability to mix mediums is what kept me constantly exploring and enjoying polymer. These explorations led me to write articles for polymer arts magazines, gallery shows and ultimately teaching in the broader polymer community which I adored.
After over a decade with polymer I craved working large scale again so over the last 2 years I have found myself painting and drawing again on larger canvases. Not surprisingly, I’ve found things I learned while working in polymer definitely add to my new work with paint. S o you might say the circle of creation just keeps feeding itself and goes on and on regardless of the medium and that’s what being an artist really means to me.
